At Umphafa Berg Tours | Visit Drakensberg, we believe that meaningful impact begins with intentional action. In that spirit, I am pleased to share an initiative we are undertaking in collaboration with You Matter Foundation to raise support for the purchase of 100 pairs of school shoes by December 2026, to be distributed to learners in January 2027.

This initiative is aimed at supporting a school in the Mnweni area, where we hope to make a practical contribution that helps learners begin the new school year with dignity, confidence, and encouragement.

This campaign builds on work that has already been done. In 2023, together with Mbalenhle, we successfully raised ZAR 15,000.00, which was used to purchase school shoes for a school in Utrecht, Emalahleni Primary as well as Meadowsweets Secondary, based in the foothills of the Central Drakensberg. That experience showed us the power of collective support and how a focused community-driven effort can make a real difference in the lives of young people. With this new initiative, I would like to introduce a different and more engaging approach.

For those who are interested in seeing me take part in adventurous activities, I am opening this campaign as an opportunity for people to suggest activities, invite me to join them, or collaborate on adventure-based experiences that can help us raise awareness and support toward achieving this goal. Adventure has always been a meaningful part of our identity, and through this initiative, it can also become a tool for impact.

For those who would prefer to support directly, we will also make available a public donation link, and members of the public are welcome to purchase a pair of shoes and reach out to us directly. Every contribution, whether through collaboration, sponsorship, or direct giving, will bring us closer to the goal of reaching 100 pairs by the end of the year.

I look forward to the support, the shared ideas, and the spirit of collaboration that this initiative may inspire. Most of all, I look forward to seeing the difference we can make together for the learners in Mnweni.
